Free Summer Reading, STEM & Lunch Program! July 8th -Aug 6th

For the upcoming summer, we are excited to expand our program to include middle and high school students, focusing on STEM learning. Participants will engage in activities such as working on computers, building robots, and writing computer games. This initiative is designed to enhance their technical skills and foster a deeper interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. By providing hands-on experiences in these areas, we aim to prepare students for future educational and career opportunities in STEM fields. Our goal is to inspire innovation and creativity, equipping young minds with the tools they need to succeed in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

 Our summer reading program is thoughtfully designed to combine the fun of a summer camp with crucial academic preparation for the upcoming school year. Recognizing that many of our students often start the school year a grade level behind, our program aims to give them a significant headstart. Through engaging activities and structured learning sessions, we ensure that each participant not only enjoys their summer but also gains valuable skills and knowledge to boost their academic performance. This dual approach helps mitigate the common educational slide during the break and sets our students up for success in the fall. Ultimately, our goal is to make learning enjoyable and effective, ensuring our students are well-prepared and confident as they enter the new school year.

To meet our goals for the upcoming summer, we will partner with local libraries to secure book donations. Additionally, we plan to recruit volunteers who will conduct reading workshops and provide mentoring sessions. We will also collaborate with community kitchens to handle the preparation and distribution of meals. These efforts will ensure a well-rounded support system for the children participating in our program. This multifaceted approach will enhance both the educational and nutritional aspects of our summer initiative.

 We are committed to ensuring our students are well-nourished and ready to learn by providing free, delicious hot lunches during our program sessions. Additionally, to support our students beyond the classroom, we will offer meals for them to take home for dinner. This initiative ensures that every student has access to nutritious meals throughout the day, fostering better concentration and learning outcomes. By addressing their nutritional needs, we aim to create a holistic environment that supports both their educational and personal growth. Our goal is to ensure that no student has to worry about their next meal, allowing them to focus fully on their learning and development. 

 Our summer reading program is supported by a dedicated group of volunteers consisting of young professionals and college students who are eager to contribute their time and skills. These enthusiastic individuals bring a fresh perspective and a dynamic energy to the program, enhancing the learning experience for the students. Their involvement not only enriches our capacity to deliver high-quality educational content but also provides positive role models for the students. This collaboration fosters a vibrant community atmosphere where knowledge and experiences are shared, significantly benefiting both the students and the volunteers. We are grateful for their commitment and look forward to a productive summer of learning and growth.
